Porsche 911 GT3

2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

In our previous post we showed you a leaked spec sheet of what rumored to be the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. Well the rumor is true, Porsche has finally unveiled the new 911 GT3 RS 4.0 which will be limited to just 600 units with a starting price of $185,000.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is a track-inspired sports supercar powered by a 4.0L flat 6-cylinder engine that utilizes forged pistons, where the connecting rods are forged titanium while carrying the same crankshaft used with the 911 GT3 race cars. This combination allows the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 to deliver 500 hp at 8,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 339 lb-ft at 5,750 rpm. The power is managed by a 6-speed manual transmission and with its weight of 2,998 lbs (full tank of fuel), the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 can sprints from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph while 0-124 mph comes in just under 12 seconds. It has taken the renowned Nurburgring-Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 27 seconds.

Aside from its undoubtedly impressive performance, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 also offers an upgraded suspension and a reduced weight through the extensive used of carbon fiber materials. It offers carbon fiber sport bucket seats, carbon fiber front fenders and luggage compartment lid, and weight-optimized carpets. The 911 GT3 RS 4.0′s power-to-weight ratio is 5.99 lbs/hp.

Sales in the United States will start in late 2011 in which we think this will be available across Europe or look at Italy Car Hire. It will be available in the standard Carrera White color with graphic designs, in low ride-height, with large rear wing with side plates, with central twin tailpipe, and with aerodynamically optimized body.
